Competition details

After such a successful Nature Photo Competition last year we're excited to do it all over again with another great group of prizes thanks to our supporters.  Last year we had some great close-up photos, especially of birds.

This year we also want to encourage photos which show native wildlife in the surrounding environment.

This may be the beach or a local park but it could also be your garden or a roadside.

The key is that we want to see native wildlife doing its thing in Waimakariri.

Prizes for the Open section are:

1st Place - Best close up of native wildlife:

  • A copy of Tamatea Dusky by Peta Carey. The remarkable story of Fiordland's Dusky Sound (2021 NZ Mountain Book of the Year) with thanks to the publisher Potton and Burton.
